Terms of use

For the Memory Tin app and this website. Last updated 30 July 2026.

Read this bit if nothing else: Memory Tin deletes photos you chose, permanently, when you empty the tin. iOS keeps them in Recently Deleted for 30 days, but after that they are gone. Keep a backup you trust.

Who you are agreeing with

Memory Tin is made and operated by Peidus Products OÜ, a company registered in Estonia (“we”, “us”). By installing the app or using memorytin.app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use them.

Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Memory Tin on devices you own or control, in line with the App Store terms. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source of the app, except where that is expressly allowed by law.

Your photos are yours. Nothing in these terms gives us any right, licence, or claim over the content in your photo library.

Deleting photos

Memory Tin deletes only photos you have put in the tin and only when you confirm. The deletion is performed by iOS, which moves the photos to Recently Deleted for 30 days before removing them permanently. We cannot recover a photo for you at any stage — we never had it.

Storage figures in the app are estimates. iOS reports the full original size of photos that are optimised in iCloud, and no space is returned until Recently Deleted is emptied. That is why the app says “up to”.

Purchases and renewals

  • The app is free to download. Premium is optional.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled, and are charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase.
  • Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
  • The lifetime option is a one-off purchase, not a subscription.
  • Prices shown on this site are for the euro storefront; your local price is set by the App Store.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you are in the EU or UK, your statutory rights are unaffected.
  • Emptying the tin is free on every plan and will not be moved behind a paywall in any future version.

Acceptable use

Use Memory Tin only on photo libraries you are entitled to manage. Do not use it to destroy content you do not own or that you are required to keep. Do not attempt to disrupt the app, this website, or the small services behind them.

Availability and changes

We may update, change, or discontinue features. If a paid feature is removed for good, we will say so in the release notes and, where a subscription is materially affected, help you with Apple's refund process. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of this website or the small backend services that deliver help content.

Liability

Memory Tin is provided “as is”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of data, photos, or profit. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. Consumer rights under mandatory local law always apply.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by Estonian law, and the courts of Estonia have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer in the EU, you may also bring proceedings in the courts of your own country and use the European Commission's online dispute resolution platform.

Apple

Apple is not a party to these terms and has no obligation to provide support for Memory Tin. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Apple, the Apple logo and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc.; Memory Tin is an independent app and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Apple.
